CastaNote is a voice-first fishing logbook designed for the post-trip moment. Instead of typing notes on a wet screen, just talk about your fishing trip for 30 seconds. Our AI automatically extracts waterbody, species, lures, weather, depth, and more into a structured, searchable log. Over time, CastaNote surfaces insights so you can spot patterns and catch more fish.

It's one tap to start, one tap to stop. After your trip, open CastaNote, hit the big mic button, and just talk naturally: "Went to Lake Washington today, caught three largemouth on crankbait, water was about 60 degrees, sunny...". When you stop, the app sends your recording to our AI, which transcribes and extracts all the details into a structured log entry. You can edit anything later.

CastaNote supports English and Chinese (Mandarin) voice recording. You can switch your preferred language in Settings. Each language uses a dedicated AI pipeline optimized for accuracy.

Yes! CastaNote is designed offline-first. You can always record and save your voice memo without an internet connection. When you're back online, the app automatically sends it for AI processing. Your logs are always accessible regardless of connectivity.

The AI extracts and structures:

• Waterbody name (lake, river, reservoir, etc.)
• Species caught
• Lures/baits used
• Weather conditions and water temperature
• Wind conditions
• Fish count per person
• Depth range
• Fishing partners
• General notes

If the AI can't confidently determine something (like the waterbody), it flags it for your review.

Insights are AI-generated pattern analyses based on your fishing log history. Currently, CastaNote generates two types:

• Best lure by species — Which lures have worked best for each species you've targeted
• Best depth band by species — What depth ranges have been most productive

Free users see a blurred preview (title + first line). Pro users get full insights with regeneration capability. More insight types are planned for future updates.

Absolutely. Every field is fully editable. The AI does its best to extract accurate data, but you're always in control. Tap any log to view details, then edit waterbody, species, lures, weather, or any other field.

Yes — Pro users can import fishing logs via CSV files (up to 150KB per file). This is great for migrating from spreadsheets or other apps. Imported logs do not count toward the monthly voice recording limit.

Yes! The Free plan includes 5 voice-recorded logs per month with AI extraction, 30-second recording limit, and blurred insight previews. It resets every month so you can keep using it without paying. Upgrade to Pro anytime for unlimited logs, longer recordings, CSV imports, and full insights.

Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. To cancel, go to your device's subscription settings:

• iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → CastaNote → Cancel
• Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CastaNote → Cancel

You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

100% private by default. CastaNote has no public feed, no social features, and no data sharing. Your fishing spots, catches, and techniques are encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Your honeyholes stay yours.

Audio recordings are automatically deleted immediately after AI processing. Only the extracted text and structured data are stored. No audio is retained long-term. The AI services we use (Groq, Alibaba DashScope) process your data solely for transcription and do not use it to train their models.

Yes. You can delete your entire account and all associated data (logs, insights, profile, stored files) at any time from the Settings screen. The deletion is permanent and immediate. You can also email wayne@castanote.com to request deletion.

No. Location access is completely optional. CastaNote works fully without it. If you choose to grant location permission, it may be used to help identify waterbodies. You can revoke it at any time in your device settings.
